Shaded by a canopy of trees and joined together by a network of jungle walkways our residences all include a private pool and are for guests that wish to experience a rustic yet lavish escape.
The inspiration for the design of the residences was derived from the four fictitious clans. They created their own form of arts, handicrafts and clothing, which you will see elements of in all the villas and cottages.
Keemala accommodation (all with private pools):
16 Clay Pool Cottages
7 Tent Pool Villas
7 Tree Pool Houses
8 Bird’s Nest Pool Villas
The concept of Keemala is to offer experiences to guests that are ‘Beyond Enchanting’. This ethos began with the objective to offer an experience very different to other resorts in Phuket. Keemala harnesses the history of ancient Phuket settlers and incorporates the story of four different clans within the resort. The architecture of the four different accommodation types reflects the skills and way of life of each of the groups.
• The 16 ‘Clay Pool Cottages’ reflect the earthiness of the ‘Pa-ta-pea’ clan who believed in a strong connection to the earth and were leaders in agriculture at the time.
• The ‘Khon-Jorn’ was a tribe of wanderers who excelled in foraging, performing and trading, and inspired the design of the seven Tent Pool Villas. Their nomadic lifestyle is exhibited in the tent-like structures.
• The seven ‘Tree Pool Houses ‘are built to represent the ‘We-ha’ people who chose to live suspended from the trees to be nearer to the sky.
• The ‘Rung-Nok’ community inspired the design of the eight ‘Bird’s Nest Pool Villas’. This group enjoyed an opulent way of life compared to other clans. Thus the interwoven design of their homes was to aid protection and privacy.
